How Gastify notifies you when a forwarded invoice is ready

Gastify can notify you when a forwarded invoice finishes processing, as long as your inbox is active and notifications are allowed.

Forwarding an invoice should not create another thing to check

A dedicated invoice email is useful because it keeps receipts out of a crowded personal inbox. The remaining friction is knowing when a forwarded invoice is actually ready. If you have to keep opening the app just to check, the workflow becomes manual again.

Gastify’s notification flow reduces that waiting loop. When the ingest service finishes processing a forwarded invoice, Gastify can send a push notification to a device registered to that account. This is intentionally conditional: the inbox must be active, the app must have an auth session, the device token must be registered, and the user must allow notifications.

What changes in daily use

The practical change is that the app can react closer to the moment the invoice is ready. If Gastify is open, an incoming invoice message can trigger an inbox sync. If the app is in the background or closed, the operating system can show a notification. When the notification includes the invoice extraction identifier, tapping it can bring you back toward the relevant invoice context.

This is helpful for receipts that arrive after payment or invoices forwarded from another mailbox. The point is not to remove review. The point is to get you to the review step faster, so you can still confirm store, date, products, discounts, and totals before relying on the data.

Recommended flow

First, activate or confirm your Gastify invoice inbox. Then allow notifications when the app asks. From that point, an authorized device can register for invoice alerts. When a notification arrives, treat it as a prompt to review the invoice detail, not as proof that every extracted field is final.

What to keep in mind

If notifications are disabled, the inbox is inactive, or a device token becomes invalid, the alert may not arrive. The sending service also removes dead tokens when the push provider reports them as stale. In practical terms, notifications make the path to a new invoice shorter, while the final review remains in your hands.
